BC Place Lights Testing

B.C. Place’s renovations are almost complete and lately they have been testing the outer ring’s LED lighting system. In fact, the new-ish stadium will feature a lot of lighting as the the masts that keep the roof together will also be lit up. I wonder how this will sit with the near by residents. After all they one wouldn’t expect light, noise or any other form of pollution living that close to a stadium.

I just keep picturing the Kenny Roger’s Chicken episode from Seinfeld.

maybe if it looked cooler. But so far the lights don’t look that cool. projections of the action inside would be more interesting than that

they look neat from a distance, but i’d hate to be one of those condo owners in direct sightline with those lights when they’re on – time for new blinds!!

meee mee, i’m one of those condo owners that live within close sight of BC place!! it’s not terrible like in seinfeld hahaha … it’s more of a colored light (think traffic light), rather than a shining spotlight.

Oh I’m sure the whiners of Vancouver will be out in full force once the stadium is lit up.

The lights look tacky, imo. The lights should’ve been simple glass windows instead, to let more natural light into the stadium. The stadium is a pretty decent design, but the lights will definitely make it look like a circus.
