The Utopia Festival, Vancouver’s inaugural celebration of women and digital culture, with workshops, dance parties and performances taking place March 5 at W2 Storyeum, hopes to showcase that talent of women in the industry.
Utopia Festival is a new festival and aims to be an annual showcase of women-specific electronic music and it goes down this Saturday March 5th at W2 Storyeum, the DTES-based community arts and culture centre.
The inaugural event coincides with International Women’s Day and will focus on electronic music. In subsequent years the festival will expand to all realms of digital culture.
There will be many talented women at the event including the award winning artist Peaches, singer Tanya Tagaq and many more international, national and local women artists.
