Hamburger Disco & Isabelle Dunlop Pop-Up Retail in Mount Pleasant
We let the people of Vancouver know about the opportunity a few weeks back and you responded in droves! Now the selections have been made and the first pop-up stores are ready to open their doors. Throughout April, t-shirt company Hamburger Disco and Mount Pleasant-based clothing designer Isabelle Dunlop will set up shop, pop-up style, as a part of the Rize Alliance pop-up retail initiative in Mount Pleasant.
These local entrepreneurs will have access to Broadway at Kingsway retail space for one month, free of charge, as a part of a community initiative to celebrate and support local business. The free space is available to a variety of small business entrepreneurs for a year.
More than 30 businesses applied to be a part of the pop-up program, presenting their business plans and locally made products to a panel of judges in early March. A variety were chosen to utilize the space to market and sell their products, each bringing something fun and creative to the pop-up concept.
Isabelle Dunlop is a local clothing designer who creates original, limited edition pieces of clothing and jewelry and has established her line to embody what she describes as “old world charm”.
Hamburger Disco is a t-shirt company started by three young Vancouver entrepreneurs whose goal is become “Vancouver’s t-shirt company”. With bright and eye catching designs, they bring a tasty ‘hamburger’ image to their design along with other funky 1970’s disco-themed concepts.
The pop-up retail space is set to open in early April and is one of several community programs planned for the Rize Mount Pleasant community space at Broadway and Kingsway.
