Earth Hour 2011 Vancouver Events
This year Earth Hour 2011 takes place Saturday, March 26, at 8:30pm Vancouver time and participation is real easy. All you have to do is turn off all your lights. If you can turn off the television as well, lucky for us Canucks fans there is no game on that day.
Many companies around the Lower Mainland are taking the lead and turning off the lights at their office tours. Local restaurants will be turning off the lights and hosting candle light dinners throughout the downtown core.
Earth Hour is a World Wildlife Fund initiative and serves as a constant reminder of how a small gesture done by many can make a great impact.
You can do lots of fun things in the dark. Here are a few suggestions:
- Plan a candlelight dinner for you and your significant other or a group of friends.
- Play board games
- Tell scary stories
- Take a nap
Whatever you’re doing try to take the time out and shut off your lights.
