BC Budget Takes an $800 Million Hit

The BC Liberals put on their happy face when dissecting the provincial budgetyesterday. Even with revenues expected to drop by $3 billion over the next 3 years, finance minister Colin Hansen assured a balanced budget. Do the projected revenue drops include sales of Marijuana? In tough economic times does not that industry usually boom?

How will the mighty Liberals attain this? For starters their will be no new “significant” programs. Further, it should be noted that education and health related programs will remain as is. Even with cost overruns on specific projects they maintain that the budget will be balanced. Kudos to Gordo and his crew. Victory!

A current poll conducted by Ipsos Reid suggests that the people of BC feel that the BC Liberals are the party to guide us through these tough economic times. No surprises there as the NDP was the one who turned this province into a pile of shit, financially speaking that is.

If they balance the budgets during these tumultuous economic times I’d be extremely happy. While governments in the United States are teetering on the edge of economic collapse and central Canada is circle jerking their way to massive bailouts, BC seems poised for economic growth. The growth is minuscule, but some growth is better than none or even worse negative growth.

Cue NDP lackluster leader Carole James to get us out of this situation. She still thinks that axing the carbon tax is a good idea. Asshat. Last time I checked gasoline was hovering around $0.88, who gives a shit Carole, fucking move on. Then she plans to increase spending while cutting taxes all the while maintaining a balanced budget. Yeah right and I got some magic mushrooms to sell to you.
