You see a list filled with proud British Columbian athletes who have medalled at these Olympics. BC comprises only 13% of Canada’s population, yet 11 out of 25 (44%) of the medals handed out (including at team events) have gone to the Westcoast.

I’m sure if someone had the time they would find BC to be at or near the top compared to regions around the world in terms of medals per capita. We should be proud of our great athletes and another reason for being “the best place on earth.”

As the Olympics continue, I predict that BC athletes will have more ice than Slick Rick and the separatists up north will demand a referendum.
